Public recycling points provide residents with easy access to local recycling facilities. However, public recycling points also attract fly-tipping and the bins can sometimes look unattractive, particularly in Conservation Areas.

Following a number of complaints about the public recycling point at Kildrostan Street, in Pollokshields, David wrote to Land and Environmental Services to request the bins were upgraded and the recycling point was regularly monitored for fly-tipping.

David said: “I am pleased to say that the bottle bins have now been replaced with new ones and the Cleansing officers have agreed to visit the site more often to remove any illegal dumping.”

David also plans to call for the recycling point at Frankfort Street to be upgraded.
